When he wasn't writing music or performing, Johann Sebastian Bach was, it seems, quite enthusiastic about making a family. One of the composer's seven children, Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach was also a noted composer, and he serves as the subject of this Washington Bach Consort concert. Greatly admired by the likes of Haydn, Beethoven and Brahms, Emanuel so impressed Mozart that the icon said to have remarked, "He is the father, we are the children."
