CrossCurrents Dance Company was founded in 1994 by co-artistic directors Helen Hayes and Debra Kanter. The company is based in Montgomery County, Maryland, in close proximity to the Washington, D.C. metropolitan centers for dance. CrossCurrents' mission is to increase appreciation of and participation in contemporary dance of the highest quality.

Committed to community and education, the company presents concerts, classes and educational residencies throughout Montgomery County, Washington, DC, and the surrounding region. CrossCurrents Dance Company is a resident company at Joy of Motion Dance Center, Bethesda, MD.

Dance Place is a theater, school and community resource. Since 1980, D.C. Wheel Productions, Inc. has grown its facility, Dance Place, as one of the nation's premier community arts centers. Viewed as three components -- theater, school and community resource -- and fueled by a passion and expertise in dance, the organization is recognized for its leadership role and model programs in the national and local arenas.
