The CONCACAF Champions League will feature the best 16 teams from North America, Central America and the Caribbean in a tournament where the winner qualifies for next year’s Club World Cup.
D.C. United qualified for the inaugural Champions League by winning the 2007 Supporters’ Shield. The Black-and-Red will play in Group A of the first stage of the tournament, with Deportivo Saprissa (Costa Rica), Cruz Azul (Mexico), and Marathon (Honduras).
