Washington Improv Theater (WIT) serves up an unscripted feast of epic proportions with its new series Binge, designed to satisfy the hunger of any comedy connoisseur. WIT's six skilled company ensembles have each come up with an intriguing mix of genres to play with, from Commonwealth's parodies of '80s sitcoms to iMusical's Missed Connections, which turns lovelorn posts from Craigslist into song-filled sketches. Jackieland goes all zombie with their post-apocalyptic improv, while the Season Six troupe tackles sci-fi and King Bee comes up with off-the-cuff soap opera situations. And every Binge show is cooked up right before your eyes, with ingredients provided by audience suggestions. Learn More

Improv is a bit of a challenge to attend because the crowd, the venue, and the interaction make up a lot of the experience. Of the 5 teams that night, 2 were very good, and the rest ranged from funnyish to painful. However, the audience and the experience made it a good time. Although we got nasty looks for having a young teen in our group, the kid had more fun than any of us; so it definitely was a goofy, dick joke type of night.

For a competition environment some of the performers could have done better. Its the second time I've been here and there were not enough seats for everybody. Imagine paying full price and then having to sit on the floor, it's not acceptable.
