Most famed for his award-winning public sculpture Portlandia, D.C.-based artist-architect Raymond Kaskey pulls back the curtain on his process, known as genius loci, and chews over the challenges involved in collaborating on large-scale civic works with the National Building Museum's executive director Chase Rynd, Hon. ASLA. The discussion accompanies the exhibition Cool & Collected: Recent Acquisitions, which'll be open to attendees prior to the talk. Influenced by ancient Greek and Renaissance works, Kaskey's also created bronze components for the National World War II Memorial in D.C., the statue of Pierre de Coubertin at Olympic Centennial Park in Atlanta, and the Gem of the Lakes fountain in Chicago, among many others Learn More
