Healthy, Healing Spaces: Experts Discuss How Design Can Promote Health
Beautiful design can make you feel better ... but can it make you heal better? Healthcare's emerging "wellness" culture -- an emphasis on a wide variety of factors, including architecture and interior design, and their effects on patient health -- is dramatically changing how hospitals and other facilities are being designed, constructed and used. Now panelists Tama Duffy Day, an architect, BJ Miller, an interior designer, and Nancy Pallesen, executive director of the Arlington Free Clinic, will consider how to design "places that flourish" at the National Building Museum. Experience this fascinating discussion on how buildings can improve the delivery of health services, increase client/physician engagement and focus on the physical and social space of wellness.
