Experience Washington D.C.'s most famous historic events come to life! This History on Foot walking tour is led by an actor in costume, sharing little-known facts and moment-by-moment commentary about the events of April 14 and 15, 1865. Starting outside of Ford's Theatre, you'll hear all about the night when President Lincoln and his wife settled in for a night of drama that soon turned very personal -- the night of the President's assassination. You will then visit a number of historical sites, ending up at the White House. As you walk, a guide portraying the detective who was on duty the night of the crime will give details about the assassination conspiracy, how the crime was carried out, and the simultaneous efforts to save Lincoln's life and find the person who pulled the trigger. Report as inappropriateThis was a joyous event. I loved the songs, costumes and dancing. I'm still humming the songs.
Report as inappropriateGenerally good, but too scaled-down for a production of "Hello, Dolly!" Also, I felt that some of the casting was questionable. Enjoyable ... just didn't live up to my expectations of seeing a show at Ford's Theatre that was co-produced with Signature Theatre
Report as inappropriateThis production of Hello Dolly is delightful and well-paced. The actors have amazing singing voices. We had horrible seats -- and spent most of the performance craning our necks to be able to see even part of the stage. It seemed quite silly to give us the worst seats possible, when the theater was only half-full.
