Family Gold to be Found in How To Catch a Leprechaun
All elves are not created equal. Catch one of Santa's helpers and you are likely to get an earful about working conditions in the North Pole workshops. But catch a leprechaun, the mischievous elf of Irish origin, and you are awarded with a pot of gold. How's that for stocking-stuffer? In this same spirit of fun and fantasy, DC playwrights Mario Baldessari and Ethan Slater have written How To Catch a Leprechaun, a new children's musical. After its acclaimed debut at the Kennedy Center Page to Stage Festival, the Keegan Theatre is now staging a reading of this newly minted fairytale. Based on the familiar Irish legend, How To Catch a Leprechaun follows the comical adventures of the wistful minstrel Riley O'Really, who really wants to catch this trickiest of tricksters. Take a break from the hoopla of the holiday season to enjoy the magic and music of the Emerald Isle. Afterwards, there will be post-reading theater games and refreshments for everyone.
