Computer Scientist and Visionary Jaron Lanier: Envisioning a New Information Economy
Once a promoter and leading advocate of crowdsourcing, Jaron Lanier has changed his mind and now argues that free information is destroying our economy. During this seminar and conversation with Smithsonian magazine author Ron Rosenbaum, Lanier will explain his reversal as he charts a path to a new information economy. Lanier is the father of virtual reality, a driving force behind the collaborative ethos of the web and is a scholar-at-large at Microsoft Research. He is a bestselling author and was included in Time's 2010 list of the 100 most influential people.
