Jazz Guitarist John Scofield Brings Hollowbody Band to DC
Pioneering jazz guitarist John Scofield comes to the Howard Theatre for a one-night-only concert with his Hollowbody Band. Over the past four decades, many of the great figures of the international jazz scene -- including Chet Baker, Charles Mingus and Miles Davis -- have recorded with this Ohio-born guitarist and stylistic innovator. With more than 30 albums under his belt, Scofield keeps on playing into the present, collaborating with today's top talent, whether it's Herbie Hancock, Phil Lesh or Medeski Martin & Wood. His current project, the Hollowbody Band, is a similarly talented group of musicians including six-time Grammy nominee Mike Stern (guitar), Ben Street (bass) and Bill Stewart (drums).
