This the third time that we have been seen "Man of La Mancha". The first time was at the Goodspeed Opera House in Connecticut where it all started. But I want to tell you that this performance by the Keegan Theatre was simply WOW....We adored Richard Killey when we saw him as Don Quixote but I have to say David Jourdan was simply splendid in the role. In fact the whole cast was excellent but the standout for me was Carolyn Agan who was the best Aldonza I have had the pleasure to experience. Great acting, fabulous voice and just a delight to behold. I cannot wait to see her in other performances.

Thank you for helping this to be a "Goldstar" experience for my husband who is my very own "Don Quixote"

We did not expect to like it but we loved it. The acting was wonderful. The staging was imaginative. The costumes were great. At first we were not sure that the voice of Don Quixote was strong enough but it really fit with his age and character. Don't miss it.

Event Highlights

  • "It’s the music that matters, and in this regard the Keegan is dead-on." --Washington Post
  • "The players really shine. Jourdan, in the title role, achieves the requisite alchemy to switch back and forth between the melancholy, charismatic Cervantes and the beautifully batty Knight of the Woeful Countenance." --Washington City Paper
