If I could give this 4.5 stars, I would. I enjoyed this production. I had seen the Constellation Theatre Company's production at Source last year, and was completely blown away by it. The Arena production is also quite good, although my seat in...continued

Outstanding production, wonderfully cast. You will be sorry when it is over. 90 minutes, no intermission. If you are in the first 5 or 6 rows, dress casually as you will get wet. The theater provides towels.

It was an invigorating theater experience with balanced doses of comedy and tragedy. Great ensemble work. Good adaptation of the pool set to being in the round (square). Kudos to the lighting designer. First few rows are in the splash zone -...continued

It was entertaining but definitely not a great play. No strong story line running throughout. Seems like they wanted this to be about the production with the water for the stage but if they were going for style they needed to cast actors with a...continued

A very modern take on Ovid's history of the Roman gods. It helps if you know some of the stories retold, but not necessary. This is a spectacle to be seen; a review rather than a drama. Did I say it was beautiful? Yes very Beautiful.

I was...continued

Both my wife and I enjoyed Metamorphoses the other evening. It was quite a novelty. The water pool held the audience's attention throughout. The acting was reasonably good. The only problem I had was following the plot line. Overall the show was...continued

This was a set of short 'stories' based on the Greek Odyssey in water. Seemed a bit choppy in transition from one story to the next, though it was overall very well done considering the difficulty with the additional element of water. 90 minutes...continued

I have seen a number of Mary Zimmerman's productions, but found this less enchanting than the others. The staging and actors were fine, but the production was without passion. Lots of splashing water does not make up for the lack of creative...continued

This was a wonderfully entertaining show -- light, funny, thoroughly enjoyable and full of great classical stories with a modern twist.

Though it sometimes was difficult to hear the dialogue in the theater in the round format, the show was elegant and magical. Frankly, the water did get a bit tiresome at times--but the costums, lighting and acting are superb.

Great show; don't miss if you can snag a ticket. Opt for seats farther back from pool (where the action occurs) if you don't want to get sprinkled. Even if you are unfamiliar with Greek myths it won't matter!

Innovative staging (in a pool of water), beautiful storytelling, poetically addresses themes of love and loss. Some brief male nudity, FYI.

This play is absolutely magical. I have seen it three times, being the first time when it opened in NYC. Despite the beauty of the play, there was something missing for us this time. For some reason, the chemistry among the cast members seems not...continued

Very creative presentation, artistic dramatization. The water was used as an integral element, which was interesting to me.

One problem-- when the actors faced away from me I could not hear everything they said. This was disappointing.

unique mix of modern dance and theater
many interesting ideas about fate and free will, note that the Greeks and the Romans had a different take on fate than we do (mostly they thought we couldn't fight fate)
great acting and sophisticated...continued
