No topic is taboo for Ryan Stout, whose clean-cut look belies his nature to delve into morally repugnant subject matter with smart and sterile objectivity for big laughs. Using exaggerated honesty, delightful insincerity and mock self-righteousness, Stout's wickedly dark material appeals to everyone's sense of logic. Make no mistake, Stout will talk about rape and abortion, but to keep things on an intellectual level, he'll do his best not to curse. A veteran of Chelsea Lately and various MTV shows, Stout will take you into a dark corner ... and make you laugh out loud. Learn More

The best part of the show was the musician, who was very talented on the portable piano and had a great deal of spirit. He chimed in with a few nice musical touches.Written on Apr 04 2009
The presenter could not be called a singer because he really had little voice left and because he did not memorize his lyrics. The show began twenty minutes late, lasted half an hour before the intermission, and concluded with less than half an hour. Since the current political situation abounds in material for political satire, I was very disappointed that his material was so outdated. For example he had a song about Hillary Clinton as a Presidential candidate and several songs about Dick Cheney (only one of which was funny). While he had some interesting songs listed on the program, he did not include them. For the Madoff listing he said that he had not yet worked up the lyrics. I think he needs to get his act together to continue as a political and musical satirist, esp. to politically sophisticated audiences who would attend such an event at the National Women's Democratic Club. After talking to other audience members, I believe my view represents most of their opinions as well.

Ken Rynne delivered an excellent satirical musical revue to a responsive audience that demanded (and got) an encore. His material is timely and targeted appropriately to Washington political junkies. The performance was greatly enhanced by the contribution of his superb piano accompanist.Written on Apr 06 2009

Was Rynne drunk? Over-medicated? He mangled words/misspoke/ and acted inappropriately. Very disappointing, amateurish performance, though some of the lyrics were clever. Lamaestra was the star of the show.Written on Apr 04 2009

One man show. He has a nice voice. Unfortunately, his songs were rarely funny and he did not even have his own song words memorized.Written on Apr 03 2009
