The Pulitzer Prize finalist and Pulitzer Prize winner read from new novels that explore richly drawn fictional worlds set in upstate New York.
Russell Banks is the author of 16 works of fiction, including, most recently, The Reserve. Two of his novels, Continental Drift and Cloudsplitter, were finalists for the Pulitzer Prize. Affliction, a PEN/Faulkner Award Finalist, has been made into an award-winning film, as has The Sweet Hereafter, which won the Grand Prix and International Critics Prize at the 1997 Cannes Film Festival.
Richard Russo is the author of six novels, including the Pulitzer Prize-winning Empire Falls, as well as a collection of short stories and several produced screenplays. His most recent novel is Bridge of Sighs. He and his wife, Barbara, divide their time between coastal Maine and Boston.
