Hailed as one of Israel's most important films, Assi Dayan's 1992 film centers on a Tel Aviv pub and its multicultural clientele. Owned by a middle age woman and representing a complex portrait of Israel, the pub hosts men and women, Jews and Arabs, and a mix of Jewish ethnicities. One night a squad of soldiers is kicked out of the establishment for hassling a waitress. But the consequences of that act are greater than anyone could have imagined. Screened in Hebrew with English subtitles, Dayan's film won the Ophir Award for best film and stars legendary actress Gila Almagor. Learn More
