Positive Image II is a full-day retreat featuring two interactive, hands-on modules, one led by an Tu-Anh, an acclaimed make-up artist, and the other by Elizabeth Gibbons, a highly sought-after wardrobe consultant. This retreat uses Appreciative Inquiry techniques to help you develop a life-giving relationship with your beauty, image and aura.

  • Learn how to accentuate your best facial features
  • Streamline your daily routine 
  • Discover your own beauty secrets 
  • Mirrors, testers and supplies will be provided and participants will receive free concealer and foundation brushes
  • Participants will want to bring all their make-up to receive a personal image consultation by Tu-Anh

PM Session: Stepping Out in Style - Creating New Outfits From Your Closet
  • Develop an elegant wardrobe that reflects your personal style with items you already own
  • Feel gorgeous, comfortable and confident in clothes already in your closet
  • Differentiate yourself and meet your fashion goals for every occasion
  • Participants will want to bring the makings of some new ensembles (2 or more dresses, sweaters, tops, skirts, pants, shoes, and accessories) so Elizabeth can show you how to combine your pieces in several different ways which will enhance your appearance and give you a variety of "looks."

Positive Image II will feature an Inquiry into Beauty and Bliss. In addition participants will receive a "goody bag" with discounts to a local spa, individual sessions with Elizabeth Gibbons, and more.

Participants will enjoy a healthy breakfast, elegant buffet lunch and afternoon tea. Throughout the day water, soft-drinks, coffee and herbal infusions will be available. You are kindly asked by the venue to refrain from bringing any food or drinks from outside.

About Woman's National Democratic Club:

The Woman's National Democratic Club was founded in 1922 as the first organization for Democratic women in Washington, DC. Men were granted full voting membership in 1988.

The historic clubhouse is also a museum with beautifully appointed rooms for meetings, receptions, weddings, and other private events. Located in a neighborhood of nineteenth-century and Beaux Arts mansions, the building is a unique transition between Victorian and Arts and Crafts architecture. In 1973 it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
