This is a cool way for people new to the city to find out some really neat facts about some of our older metro area's and get familiar with parts of the city. I enjoyed it, buuuut.. what did I get for the cost of the registration fee?Written on Aug 17 2009

This was a great and awsome adventure. The Baltimore Freedom Academy parent group set out to have some fun before getting back to work for the new school year. What we found was much more than we expected. I can't begin to tell you how much fun we had. We can't wait to do it again!!! It was a great way to see the city. What a rush... Description
How does it work?
1. Upon arrival at 11:30 we will break you into teams. At precisely 12 noon, the scavenger hunt will start. Each team will be given a list of several items to retrieve and some clues to solve. The items are all of little or no cost.
2. The list will also contain a location at a popular spot where each team must check in at 2 p.m. Each team should take whatever items it has and proceed to that location by that time. If you are late, you lose points. Teams are not expected to retrieve all of the items listed. You will then have a 30 minute break to rest, eat lunch, meet people on other teams, and so on. At 2:30 p.m. sharp, your team will be given a second list of items to retrieve, and you will continue on the hunt.
3. At 4 p.m., the teams will check in at the finish line, which is near the starting line. The winning team will be the one that collects the most points. We will tally the results, and prizes will be awarded to the top team.
All teams must use public transportation. Teams caught using personal cars will be disqualified. We recommend that you bring a Metro card with at least $10 on it when you arrive or you can purchase a $6.50 all-day pass from Metro Center.
Throughout the day, you'll visit many landmarks in D.C., restaurants, schools, theaters, and much much more! There are plenty of items to collect and mysteries to solve and what you see depends upon your team's resolve, speed and ability to have fun!

Each team should have at least ONE digital camera. A backup camera is recommended.
