Pop/jazz artist Suede returns to Washington, DC to join the Lesbian and Gay Chorus of Washington (LGCW) for its spring concert and auction, Shop with Suede. The auction and concert will benefit the LGCW, now in its 23rd year. St. James's Parish Hall becomes an intimate cabaret, for meeting and greeting the incomparable vocalist Suede up-close and personal, and hearing the acclaimed LGCW.

This was an informal Suede and fabulous fun. But, was sorry to have missed the big band CD release concert the night before. I would have done both. But, bought the CD. She has a terrific voice and style and is thoroughly enjoyable as are her pianist, bass player, and harmonica player.

More Details About This Event:

The Lesbian and Gay Chorus of Washington, D.C. is a welcoming chorus of men and women singing to promote social justice, cultural diversity and gay and lesbian pride.

A long-time supporter of LGCW and featured guest artist at the group’s winter concert, songstress Suede calls it “a real thrill for me to sing with LGCW.” The popular Diva hails originally from Baltimore, and now lives in Provincetown. Her many recordings, including the recent release, “On the Day We Met,” have received high praise from critics and devoted audiences from Boston to Australia. She will be accompanied by Janice Freidman.

Auction items available at the program include weekend getaways, fine dining, a “wall of wine,” and many desirable items. Tickets include the concert, admission to the silent and live auctions, and light refreshments. The concert will be interpreted for the deaf.
