Raul Midón's brings his soulful pop-jazz sound to the Howard Theatre. Midón is known for his dazzling percussive guitar style, which often finds him playing melody, harmony and bass at the same time. He also has a soulful tenor voice, and his music offers an appealing blend of soul, jazz, pop and Latin influences. Born in New Mexico, Midón has been blind since infancy, but that hasn't stopped him from recording six critically acclaimed albums. He's performed on the Late Show with David Letterman
and The Tonight Show
, and recorded with music legends ranging from Herbie Hancock to Stevie Wonder. Singer and pianist AVERY*Sunshine opens the show.
