Mozart's infamous opera of illicit affairs and the abuse of power gets turned on its ear by the D.C. Public Opera, which transforms Don Giovanni into a present-day tale set in Washington, D.C. Held at the glamorous Mayflower Hotel, this innovative production retains the spirit and power of Mozart's music and message, while putting a new twist on the action. Sung in Italian with a full orchestra conducted by John Edward Niles, the inaugural production of D.C. Public Opera heralds a unique vision for the future of the genre. Learn More

The Terakaft concert at the Maison Francaise was a fantastic experience. With the first act, Cheick Hamala Diabate, the south of Mali was represented with wonderful african rhythms that got the crowd out of their seats dancing more than once. From the north, Terakaft, with their swirling desert sand cadences, gave an almost hypnotic performance with their nomadic saharan interpretation of the electric blues. Good stuff!
