Rossini's cherished classic is a delightful farce filled with high-flying vocal fireworks and gorgeous melodies, including "Largo al factotum," made famous by the iconic line "Figaro, Figaro, Figaro!" To help young Count Almaviva win the hand of the beautiful Rosina, the sharp-witted barber, Figaro, must prevent her from marrying her guardian, Dr. Bartolo. The trio of schemers stops at nothing in the name of love and duty.

THe tickets were a gift to my son and daugher-in-law. They found the production excellent and loved every minute of an evening of gorgeous voices (soprana... Georgian, particularly praised), hilarity, and beautiful music. They were extremely pleased with the performance.

We attended the matinee with the 2nd cast of young performers. The opera was very cleverly staged, with bits of nonsense perfectly timed. But the excitement and great pleasure came from the young leads, the Count, Rosina and Figaro. I expect to see more of that beautiful young Georgian singer who sang Rosina. Her clear bel canto and perfectly delightful acting was a joy. And the after opera Q&A with performers made the afternoon truly perfect.
