I really, really wanted to do this tour (I purchased it twice on two different dates) but cold, blustery weather forced me to cancel both times...very disappointed that it did not work out.

the weather was cool, most of the walkers dressed for the weather. teh guide was very formative & knowledgeable. it was a great tour even though the cherry blossoms did not bloom.

It would have been nicer if it hadn't been so cold and there were some cherry blossoms, but our guide Maryanne did a great job on our walk, showing us beautiful tulip magnolia trees in full bloom and telling us some history of various landmarks. I can't fault our guide for weather or lack of blossoms.

More Information About The Blossom Secrets Stroll

Description

Hear the stories and secrets behind the delicate blossoms during a walking tour featuring not only cherry trees, but also noteworthy arboreal cousins. Learn about the woman whose cherry tree vision lives on today, a Japanese lantern older than the United States itself, and where you can discover even more pink and white blooms.

Please note that this walking tour does not include a walk around the entire Tidal Basin area. (It is usually too crowded to bring a walking tour group around the Tidal Basin.) The walk concludes at the Tidal Basin, site of most of the famous Japanese cherry trees. Walk participants are welcome to walk the area on their own. The tour lasts for approximately 2 hours and will take place rain or shine.
