The Collaboration: Hollywood's Pact With Hitler
Hollywood's Pact With Hitler: Scholar Ben Urwand
In the 1930s Hollywood studios changed or abandoned movies that would have exposed the horrors of Nazism in order to keep the German market open for American films. Drawing on a wealth of archival documents, including Hitler's personal notes, scholar Ben Urwand tells the astonishing story of Hollywood's collaboration with Nazi Germany. Urwand, a junior fellow at the Harvard Society of Fellows, will share his shocking findings in conversation with George Washington University professor Jenna Weissman Joselit as part of the Jewish Literary Festival.
