Directed by Catholic University of America directing MFA candidate Sasha Bratt, The Mystery Plays fuses medieval mystery plays with the eerie sensibilities and edge-of-your-seat elements of the modern American horror genre. The production consists of two interrelated one-acts penned by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa. Aguirre-Sacasa has written for, among other things, Marvel Comics, the HBO series Big Love, and the stage (Say You Love Satan, Rough Magic). For The Mystery Plays, he explores the unexplainable which exists within all life, death, faith and forgiveness.
