Judy Blume's Tiger Eyes, Starring Willa Holland (Arrow, Gossip Girl)
Before Twilight and The Hunger Games, there was Judy Blume. Her wildly popular young adult books (like Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret) didn't have vampires or battles to the death, but they were still loved for their honest portrayal of teen issues. Blume's first book to hit the big screen is Tiger Eyes, starring Willa Holland as Davey, a teenager struggling with the sudden loss of her father. Her mom moves the family to New Mexico where Davey finds herself shell-shocked from her loss and culture-shocked by her new home. She has a hard time adjusting to her new life until she befriends a cute, smart Native American guy who helps her through this difficult time. Stay after the movie for a conversation with director Lawrence Blume (son of Judy Blume).
