Japan gave more than 3,000 cherry blossom trees to the United States as a gift in 1912. Celebrate the centennial of that generous gift during the height of Washington, D.C.'s cherry blossom season with this Asian-themed concert by the Washington Men's Camerata at the Church of the Epiphany. The warm, rich voices of the chorus offer up folk songs and other music by Asian and Asian-American composers. Featured works include Choral Hymns from the Rig Veda by English composer Gustav Holst (composer of the popular The Planets) as well as works by Kentaro Sato, Ko Matsushita, Osamu Shimizu and others.
