With music that sparkles and a playful libretto, Washington National Opera's production of Donizetti's comedy is utterly charming. Handsome Nemorino is mad for the feisty Adina. She doesn't know he exists, but he'll do anything to get her to fall in love with him. Enter the lovable quack Dr. Dulcamara, who provides Nemorino with a "magic" potion -- the elixir of the title -- that sweeps up the lovers in a comically romantic whirlwind. Filled with whimsical wit, beautiful arias and intoxicating duets, the opera is sung in Italian with projected English titles. Learn More

Probably one of the most enjoyable operas I have heard in a long time. It was just beautiful.
Radvanovsky was absolutely delightful. She touched us from her first notes and we were under her charm for a long time after the show ended.
