Not a perfect 4-stars but the actual event was a lot of fun and something different. It's one of the more pricey things I've done off a Goldstar, but we all got our money's worth in sparkling wine tasting. Ray Isle was a great teacher and it was a laid-back environment to learn everything, not at all pretentious like I thought it may be. Really my complaint has to be the event management and venue combined. It took up 15minutes walking in every direction and floor level (after asking various staff each time we ended up in the wrong place from the previous instructions) to find the seminar room. I think more signage or maps would help the convention/expo patrons next year.

This seminar will be a fun and informative trip to Champagne, with a little bit of history, a little bit of winemaking and vineyards, and a lot of Champagne sipping. You'll learn the differences between non-vintage and vintage Champagnes, what the words 'brut,' 'demi-sec,' and 'tete-de-cuvée' mean, how many bubbles are in a bottle of Champagne, and more. Session 3 : Pink & Purple: From Rosé Champagne to Sparkling Shiraz Some of the most popular sparkling wines in the world right now are rosé—for good reason, as they're also some of the best sparkling wines in the world. This is a quick, lively introduction to rosé Champagnes and sparkling wines: the different processes used to make them, how they differ in flavor, what to serve them with. For fun, you'll also taste some sparkling purple wine (Australian Sparkling Shiraz), which is also gaining popularity in the U.S.
