More Details About This Event: In 1941, millions of Americans began to descend on Washington to aid the new war effort. The city would never be the same. This walking tour tells the story of the remarkable, often haphazard, transformation of Washington from a sleepy southern town into a wartime global capital. Step back in time and learn about government girls (10 for each guy), segregation, Hollywood stars, alphabet cities, bunkers, and secret spies.
About MobileTours.org: Mobiletours is DC's newest walking tour company that offers various historical walking tours around town. Mobiletours also offers visitors the chance to listen to a free cell phone guided tour of the National Mall. About John J. Pershing Statue: The John J. Pershing memorial was erected as a part of the Pennsylvania Avenue Development Corporation design of Pennsylvania Avenue in 1983 and has been included in the design of Pershing Square. |
