Get your share of some Texas-sized and truly twisted dark comedy in Killer Joe, written by acclaimed playwright Tracy Letts. This is the sordid and satirical tale of Chris, a drug dealer who decides his best chance of saving his own skin involves killing his mom for the insurance money. Other members of the Smith family see dollar signs and join Chris in hiring Killer Joe Cooper (who also happens to be a cop) to execute the contract. All hell breaks loose when this host of incompetent, backstabbing characters twist themselves into one heck of a deep-fried, white-trash mess. Much like a train wreck, it's hard to look away from the staggering level of dysfunction and disturbing psychoses that appear on stage. Incidentally, Letts also wrote the screenplay for the 2011 film of the same name, which starred Matthew McConaughey as the title character. Learn More

We all thought that "Little Women" was an excellent performance! The singing was exceptional and the costumes were pivotal to the period being portrayed. The book literally came to life through this production, especially with the outstanding performance of "Jo".

The Louisa May Alcott classic story comes to life at the Arsenal Center for the Arts this fall as the Wellesley Players perform Little Women. Helmed by Celia Couture, acclaimed director of recent Wellesley Players productions Fiddler on the Roof and Steel Magnolias, Little Women will warm audience hearts as the March sisters endure without their father, a chaplain in the Union army during the Civil War.
This coming-of-age story is set not far from Wellesley, as Louisa May Alcott's family home in Concord is the basis for the March estate depicted in the familiar novel and musical. Little Women will be music directed by Shawn Gelzleichter and choreographed by Kelly Murphy.
