Celebration Theatre celebrates the season with an all-new Christmas show, featuring a quintet of short Yuletide comedies -- all wrapped in an LGBT bow and making their world premieres. The set-ups range from the everyday to the absurd, as a drunken office party results in an unexpected coupling in Laura Black's play, while Jesus Christ makes a birthday visit to Dr. Freud in a short written by David Church. Also featured are stories about an awkward Christmas Eve date, a boy with an unusual request for a department store Santa and a woman who hires a sexy young escort to accompany her to an ex-lover's holiday bash.

I love this cute program. It was like seeing short films one after another at a film festival. Yet, it's live a theatre version, and I love live theatres. Also, I appreciate the Celebration Theatre to represent the issue of LGBTQ identities & holiday. Holiday or everyday, gay or straight, we all desire and deserve to love and be loved, don't we?

Consisting of 5 short plays, the evening touched on a variety of tones. I loved it for this. My favorites had both humor and serious "questions of self". The last piece was highly comedic and ended the 90 minute show with a bang. I've come to the Celebration a number of times, and although neither my partner nor I are gay, the shows that we enjoy are those that speak a universal language about relationships, gay or not. This is one of those shows. Kudos to Playwrights 6,the guest artists of this show.

C'mon Celebration Theatre, you can do better and have done much better in the past with this event. The plays just weren't that witty this year.
Next year is comeback time, so my expectations will not be one bit lower, might even be higher. I want to back you but please don't disappoint next time!
