This play was based on historic fact and had an interesting subject. Unfortunately it was so poorly written and acted that my friend and I laughed all the way back to Pasadena. We felt like we were watching a junior high production.

I went to see a preview of this show on Saturday Sept 17th. The theater itself was a very intimate experience that continued on stage. I was taken back to the 30's and old Hollywood instantly and the scene where Garbo enters was mystic, powerful...continued

The show put me in early Hollywood this is good - Lina Hall (Hellsvist) as Greta Garbo was a standout and made the show worthwhile with her Garbo poise and stoic humor -GREAT! --direction very good - 2nd act was on a slippery slope -- cliche minor...continued

Sorry to write a bad review about a well-intentioned independent play, but we didn't enjoy this at all. Very episodic, acting was not all that convincing, and there was an overly enthusiastic member of the company in the audience acting as if...continued

I feel the quality of writing and acting was far below LA standards. The script lacked intelligence and depth.

A must see! Loved it. My first visit to the theatre and I sent out texts to my friends telling them they have to see this play and experience the venue. Great date night, girls night out or just because. Afterwards had a few minutes to chat...continued

I got tickets for a date with my girlfriend. We were very excited to see the play since it was a really great story, and, well, lesbians. We were totally disappointed. We actually left at intermission and I e-mailed Goldstar to ask if I could...continued

It was well done (preventing a law suit) for such information going public - the facts were there in the playwright's hand the whole time. Very interesting how Hollywood operates since the early years.

Odalys Nanin performed the lead, wrote and produced this show, she was excellent. The show and entire cast captured the era and magic of Hollywood in the 30's. The actresses made icon's like Greta Garbo, Isadora Duncan, and Marlene Dietrich...continued

Getting this glimpse into Hollywood of the 40's was wonderful and seemed authentic; some of the characters did, too. But the lead wasn't strong enough to convince and perhaps it was just that she had written, produced, co-directed...she wasn't...continued

Amazing cast, captivating....I didn't want it to end. I've told everyone I know that it's a must-see! Thanks so much for the experience! This was my second time at the Macha Theater and was thoroughly pleased with the way it's run!

The play is great. We were motivated to google Mercedes de Acosta and it explained a lot about the play. We decided that it would have been better if we had known how attractive and socially well connected Acosta was. We didn't understand Garbo...continued

Enjoyed the play, well written and most actors were good. It is hard to portray characters that audience knows and with some of the actors, there was a cognitive dissonance.

My friend and i liked the play. The actor that played Garbo was fantastic!! The lead actress and "muse" were good too and very energetic! I was bothered by the noisy seats in the theater though! Anytime anyone moved, the creaking was...continued

The acting and casting was superb, direction good, small details not addressed. Set really good.

A enjoyable evening, the theater is charming and everyone wonderfully pleasant can't do enough. They certainly provide a welcoming environment.
