Overall, my wife and I enjoyed the Generate showcase. However, the show did have its problems. There were ten comedians that were scheduled to perform. Of those ten, only six actually performed live on stage. The other four decided to show short films that supposedly showcased their talents. Not only were these films not funny, I felt that it was a copout on the part of these comedians because it seemed that they didn't want to perform live on stage. Perhaps to hide the fact that they're not talented? The Generate talent agency really needs to not have their clients do this ever again because comedy fans will not support these copouts, thereby losing business. I'm so glad that through Goldstar Events, I only had to pay their service charge and not the actual admission (which would've been $14)Written on Aug 20 2008
for the showcase. Of the six comedians that did perform live, only three were actually funny and of these three, only one really stood out. Other than that, it was a fun environment. The venue is nice and the service is good. Of course, it's good because of their 2-item minimum policy. They make sure that you don't leave until you order two items. Unless this showcase is improved, seeing it once is enough.

The Generate Showcase, which was the first show, SUCKED, and the second show was going to have the two headlining comics, Jasper Redd and Jon Reep and they didn't show up. Goldstar did not mention that there were TWO shows either. They just advertized the headlining comics as the first show. I do not recommend this show.Written on Jun 12 2008
