This was very good performance in a nice intimate theater. The acting was very good and included some improvisation thanks to noises outside and a patron who forgot to turn off his phone. The story itself was very interesting, revealing some scandalous details, most of which I hadn't heard before. I don't really remember Marilyn for her singing, but the songs that were performed by the actress seemed to be used to convey what she was thinking and feeling at the time. Some of the content is best suited for adults, so it is not something I'd recommend bringing the kids to. Otherwise it is a good show that I'd recommend if you are interested in the subject matter (or old-time Hollywood, in an old time theater).
Quotes & Highlights
“[The play] treads ground yet unworn … Nanin’s directorial use of film clips that blend into live action is creatively done … the script pulls no sexual punches.” —LA Weekly (Pick of the Week)
“The meticulous rendering is deliciously intimate; Marilyn shares her secrets with the audience as if confiding in her best friend … Odalys Nanin, as the producer, director and co-writer, has done a fantastic job bringing this highly entertaining, as well as moving production to life.” —RevoluTimes
