From her eccentric childhood with a wild bohemian artist mother and a Jewish Guido dad, to the shooting death of her mother, by her father, Adelman's determination to express her rage and grief positively inspired her to write this play, miraculously transforming her real-life tragedy into a unique life-affirming dramedy.

More Information About My Brooklyn Hamlet

Description

In an odd twist of Shakespearean proportions, shortly after her mother's death, her father married Brenda's aunt, her mother's sister. This is the basis of Brenda Adelman's one-woman play, My Brooklyn Hamlet, a True Tale of Surrenda, which she has performed at the LA Women’s Festival and at Celebration Theatre.  Adelman recently moved to Los Angeles from Sedona, AZ.
