It was terrible. Three of us attended, and we couldn't have been more disappointed.

Recommended for Paul Lynde fans. I will admit I was somewhat disappointed as I'd seen this comedian do an earlier version of this show a few years ago and was thoroughly impressed & delighted, having been a Lynde fan since childhood.
This time around some rough edges were showing. Also the present show becomes a bit dark as he tells his life story--which I know became a bit dark but I went to laugh, have a good time & celebrate Lynde's life & humor.
Still, Airington's got him down, and I trust the rough edges were a fluke the night I went.

This performance was very disappointing. Mr Airington lost his place several times during the performance and most of the sound ques were off. His musical director did his best to keep him on track, but with little success. At one point while in "the square" it was obvious Mr. Airington was trying to discreetly look at a script or notes. It was not so discreet.

One or two mistakes in a performance like this can be funny and even make an audience feel as though they are part of something "special". A performance that no one else got to see. Unfortunately there was nothing "special" about this performance. Mr Airington has talent (although not the best Paul Lynde impression I have seen), but
shame on him for not rehearsing more for this performance. I don't know what the circumstances were, but if you are not ready to perform the show, you HAVE to make adjustments. I would have been more entertained if he had just stood in the middle of the stage and told a few stories as Paul Lynde. Even have a music stand and refer to notes, "It's been 27 years folks". Be up front, and make an announcement that there were some technical problems with the show and a few adjustments had to be made. That is being considerate to your audience not insulting by trying to get something past them. If you can't get the Peter Marshall sound ques down, take them out or simplify them, clean them up. Figure it out, you are the performer, it is your show. But DON"T do to another audience what you did to us.
What we saw Friday night at 9 pm was a mess.

It seems to have been the worst stand up comedy (or any comedy) performance I've ever seen. The jokes were lame and untimely. I hope those who could related to Paul Lynde's days of glory enjoyed it more, though, few laughed...

This show was amazing. I really liked Paul Lynde from the "old days" and wanted to see the show. After seeing some of the more negative comments that talked about missing lines and bad audio cues, I was hesitant. Still, I decided to buy the tickets for my friends and I for August 7th, and we had a great time. Michael Airington was amazing as Lynde, and the more he drank the more he really came off as the real Lynde. The cues were dead on, and the audience really got into it with participation in the numbers and just plain laughing like there was genuine fun being had. It was also one of the hottest looking audiences I've seen in a long time. Not a surprise that Lynde had a vast following of gay men, but who knew they would all be so gorgeous!! Thanks, Michael, and thank you Goldstar! MB

Saw this at the Laugh Factory which is a venue in need of a face lift.
The show started 40 minutes late. A two drink minimum is fine but the second drink arrives five minutes before the show is over and is weak. Hire another waitperson! Hey, I don't need to stagger out of the club but I know what a drink should taste like.
The show has it's moments but in general I found Paul Lynde to be portrayed as unlikable and unhappy. The best moments were lines from the Hollywood Squares TV show, but then those were direct quotes. The original material is a lot less funny. If you think a Paul Lynde history lesson would be fun to see, go for it. If you like to laugh your ass off at a comedy act, you won't be happy.
The music director is also annoying. A lot less of his snorting and antics would make for a better show.

Michael Airington is HYSTERICAL as Paul Lynde. You just can't beat good old fashioned entertainment like that. And his sidekick, Gary Busby is terrific. Go while the gettin's still good!

Fantastic show for casual fans and Lyndephiles alike. Airington is spot on in capturing both Lynde's voice / facial expressions and his energy... the Comedy Store's Cosmopolitans were $10 each but the show was well worth the price + 2 drink minimum. Funny, winning and entertaining!
