Found really cheap parking next to Pink Dots less than 1/2 a block away, had a really good dinner at the restaurant--but had to wait awhile for the good bands to go on. There was a Sublime cover band that was--well, just that--a cover band. But everyone who went up after really made it worthwhile. The band Arise Roots was a special treat. We had never heard of them before, but decided we'll totally go see them again. The only bad part of the night was our VERY rude waitress in the bar area. She was not around so we got up to get our own drinks. Then she came over after we'd serviced ourselves and told us we could only sit at a table if we ordered something from her--and then said she was going to charge us for sitting if we didn't. The manager had to come over and tell her to back off. Probably not a good way to get tips by showing your claws. So FYI, beware! Besides that it was a great evening!Written on Feb 10 2011
