I DO NOW UNDERSTAND MORE WHERE THE PAST REVIEWERS WERE COMING FROM. BUT BASED ON THAT I WOULDN'T HAVE GONE HAD I NOT READ THREE RELATED "GO SEE" REVIEWS IN TRADE PAPERS, ETC.. AND I WOULD HAVE REGRETTED NOT GOING. SOME VERY GOOD PERFORMANCES. WAS IT MY FAVORITE, DID IT ENHANCE MY LIFE OR UNDERSTANDING OF HUMANITY, NO! WAS IT DARK.... YES VERY BUT I WAS EXPECTING THAT. COULD I CLEARLY EXPLAIN THE POINT... NO! BUT I ENJOYED THE EXPERIENCE AND AM SO GRATEFUL FOR THE "CELEBRATION THEATRE" AND WHAT THEY BRING TO THE TABLE TIME AFTER TIME. SUPPORT THEM AND THIS PRODUCTION, AS YOU COULD DO FAR WORSE WITH YOUR TIME AND MONEY. BUT WHAT DO I KNOW.....

I have unfailingly in the past enjoyed and appreciated Celebration Theatre offerings, but this time I think they missed the mark. The acting was OK, no complaints there, and the modest production acceptable given the limitations of a tiny stgae. But the play itself made little sense, the characters never developed, and the denouement failed to satisfy. I will not be recommending this one. My friend who usually accompanies me to Celebration felt the same.

This show was well done, and I got to meet the producer. It's marketing makes it look like a light play, when it is very serious. I would say, it is almost absurdist in the first act, but don't leave during intermission. The second act ties it all together. But then it was not satisfying in it's reveal. Not the fault of the theater. Very dark. Well-acted, and well staged. I just didnt care much for the play itself. It seemed so promising and fell so far short of what the playwright could have done.
