From Bette Davis' first Oscar win in 1935 to Joan Crawford's death in 1977, these two Hollywood divas waged a bitter personal feud competing for acting roles, top billing, Academy Awards and men. BitchSlap! is a comedic take on the long-running dispute with a memorable behind-the-scenes look at the star's double billing on the 1962 classic Whatever Happened To Baby Jane?. Egging the celluloid luminaries on is reigning gossip queen Hedda Hopper, publishing and profiting from her notes on Davis' notorious one-liners and Crawford's sly maneuvering. Funky little theater but small and intimate. Four singers were great.Written on Dec 11 2007
Each had a distinct personality, and all had different voices. Stories
about Gene Pitney extremely interesting--his life, what songs he wrote,
whose songs he sang besides his own. Some technical problems (sound)
but all in all a wonderful experience.

Description
Within a period of about five years, Gene Pitney wrote hits for The Crystals, Ricky Nelson, worked with Phil Spector and The Rolling Stones, recorded duets with George Jones, sang an Oscar-nominated movie theme, was voted Italy’s #1 recording artist and gave Mick Jagger and Keith Richards their first U.S. chart hit. Pitney built a career on canny musical instincts and a strong tenor voice that was made for melodrama. In 2002 Gene Pitney was inducted into the Rock ‘N Roll Hall of Fame along with Tom Petty, Isaac Hayes, Brenda Lee, The Ramones and the Talking Heads.
