After the Fall: Rarely Produced Classic by Arthur Miller from HumanArts Theater Company

Full Price:
$25.00
Our Price:
$12.50

Based on the playwright's life and considered one of Arthur Miller's most personal plays, After The Fall follows a man on his quest to make peace with his own history and with the tumultuous world around him. This experimental portrait of a man struggling with the choices he has made in his public and private life examines the personal, political and universal forces that collide when we "fall" from innocence. Following the death of his second wife, Quentin tries to move forward, but he must also relive childhood losses, failed marriages and the effects of the 1950s' Blacklist. This rarely produced classic is presented by the HumanArts Theater Company. Learn More

Although there were some funny moments, most of the comedy was forced and performances were uneven.

The show was great, lots of fun, campy done extremely well. Action flowed seamlessly. Directing was superb. The cast blended as an meshed and believable ensemble. Each character was brilliantly defined. Momma was, like all members of the cast, outstanding. We walked into the show feeling tired; we left feeling energized.

More Information About Women Behind Bars

Description

by Tom Eyen

In this hilarious send-up of women in prison B-movies of the 50s, innocent Mary Eleanor-framed for a crime she didn't commit-lands in the Greenwich Village Women's House of Detention. Presided over by a sadistic prison matron with a taste for female flesh (played by West Hollywood's Momma), Mary Eleanor enters this multicultural den of vice and ends up abused, hardened and cynical before her time....just like in the movies!

Women Behind Bars
played to sold out audiences in both New York in the 1970s and here in Los Angeles at the Roxy in the 1980s. Playwright Tom Eyen was best known for co-writing the hit musical Dreamgirls, and had both Tony and Grammy Awards -- and even an Emmy nomination -- to his name.
