The only reason I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 is that I am afraid of bugs and inside this lovely place, they are flying around and landing everywhere. Even though butterflies are not really bugs, I could not take part in some of the most interesting exhibits because they were about bugs.Written on Apr 05 2011
I realized I should have prepared my 3 year old for the fact that the butterflies will be all around so he could enjoy it even more than he did.
We will try again in a few years.
Access and parking are very easy.

The place could use a design update.Written on Jul 18 2011
A little mood music.
some paint, maybe some effect lighting on walls
and a patch on a leaky roof. Bathroom were the same, campish.
Butterfly exhibit was very nice as were plants.
Gift shop is a big pain with kids thinking this a big draw to overpriced crap.
Someone needs to put some time and color and a few bucks into this place.

I was very much looking forward to visiting the Butterfly Place as it seemed a wonderful way to spend a bit of time with my 6 year old. And at the price of $6 per person I figured it would be well worth the price. I do however have to say I was very disappointed. Considering this is "THE Butterfly Place" I had expected a bit more. The butterfly arena was very small and not too many varieties. The plants were all VERY low to the ground which meant the butterflies were as well. I feel that plant life could be dramatically improved. I have been to local zoos that have a butterfly enclosures that are much better than this. Overall, after about 30-45 mins inside we were all ready to go home and I'm very happy we didn't spend the door price of $12 per person. I beleive that is very steep for what is offered. As I said, I was very disappointed.Written on Mar 13 2012

a most relaxing afternoon in a warm enclosure on a cold day! Flowers and butterflies will pick up your spirits and the ability to stroll through the garden as well as sit and marvel at the butterflies and their spectacular colours was appreciated. For those of us who like learning there's much about the entire life cycle of the butterflies and for patient people you can watch some hatch! I will return!Written on Mar 07 2012
