The dangers of workplace romances are explored to both comic and dramatic effect in this revival of the 1954 Tony Award-winning musical. At the Sleep-Tite Pajama Factory, sparks fly between Sid Sorokin, the new factory superintendent, and Babe Williams, leader of the union grievance committee. Their stormy relationship comes to a head when the workers strike for a pay increase, setting off a conflict between management and labor, not to mention a battle of the sexes. A true slice-of-'50s-era-life, the still-resonant storyline also boasts a timeless jazzy score by Richard Adler and Jerry Ross, featuring songs like "Steam Heat," "Hey There" and "Hernando's Hideaway." This ever-popular show won the Tony for Best Revival when it appeared on Broadway in 2006, starring Harry Connick, Jr. Learn More

The event is very disorganize. People waited outside the door until a few minutes before the show but there was no line, so there was cutting line and almost a stampede. When we get in, most seats were reserved by blankets spread out on the chairs. Up to the time we left we never saw anyone taking charge of the event. Needless to say, we will never attend an event at the Whittier Community Theater.
