NextDoor Theater Company presents Stephen Sondheim's Into the Woods. This Tony Award-winning musical follows familiar fairy tale characters on their quests to make their wishes come true. But stories don't really end at "happily ever after." Into the Woods takes Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood and other fairy tale characters beyond their happy endings to explore what happens next. This clever, funny and poignant musical turns fairy tale logic on its head to deliver profound lessons about the consequences of our choices, the importance of relationships and the legacy we leave for our children.

Given that this was a one scene stage prop, this was a very imaginative set-up. The actors were amazing (loved Little Red Riding Hood!). It was funny and entertaining.

Description

The plot of Into the Woods intertwines the stories of various familiar fairy tales with an original story of a childless Baker and his Wife who are attempting to reverse a curse on their family in order to have a child, thus creating a single even bigger fairy tale. In the first act, the characters set out to achieve their goal of living "Happily Ever After" through familiar routes only to have to deal with what happens after "Happily Ever After" in Act Two.
