Peter Yarrow rose to prominence as a singer and songwriter for the seminal '60s folk rock band Peter, Paul and Mary, who performed together for close to 40 years and were at the forefront of the Vietnam War protest movement and many other socially and politically progressive causes. Inductees into the Vocal Group and Songwriters' Halls of Fame, they had No. 1 smashes with their beloved children's song, "Puff the Magic Dragon," along with their versions of Bob Dylan's "Blowin' in the Wind" and John Denver's "Leaving on a Jet Plane." Their other hits include Yarrow's "Day is Done", "Light One Candle" and "The Great Mandala." Yarrow continues to tour, perform and record as a beloved troubadour for kids and youngsters. He's also an award-winning social activist, who created Operation Respect, a non-profit that promotes tolerance between kids in an effort to combat school violence.

Peter Yarrow is an American singer who found fame with the 1960s folk music trio Peter, Paul and Mary. Yarrow co-wrote (with Leonard Lipton) one of the group's most famous songs, "Puff, the Magic Dragon". He is also a political activist and lends his support to causes that range from opposition to the Vietnam War to the creation of Operation Respect.
