Marimba music, ballet-infused folklorico dance, accordion-fueled norteño music and other musical performance styles from Mexico, El Salvador, Chile and beyond come together for Monsignor Romero: A Unity Song. Celebrating the life and foundation of the great Catholic activist Óscar Romero, Brava Theater Center presents such exhilarating Latin performers as Mexican political singer-songwriter Francisco Herrera, Chilean cellist and folk singer Mochi Parra and El Salvadoran dance sensations Ballet Teatro Mauricio Bonilla, performing for the first time in the U.S. from their homeland. Part of the proceeds (25%) go toward helping fund a statue of Monsignor Romero in Rome and advancing the cause of hope, love and unity. Learn More

Alonzo King’s LINES Ballet is an internationally-celebrated contemporary ballet company that has been guided since 1982 by a uniquely global artistic vision. Collaborating with noted composers, musicians and visual artists, King creates works that draw on a diverse set of deeply-rooted cultural traditions and imbue classical ballet with new expressive potential. His visionary choreography is renowned for its ability to connect audiences to a profound sense of shared humanity—of vulnerability and tenderness, but also of furious abandon and exhilarating freedom.
LINES Ballet has been successful abroad at venues such as the Venice Biennale and the Maison de la Dance in Lyon. The Company has also been featured at several prestigious festivals, including Montpellier Danse, the Wolfsburg Festival and the Holland Dance Festival.
