Dubbed "the Chagall of violinists" by The Jerusalem Post, Belgian soloist and conductor Michael Guttman leads Symphony Napa Valley on an exploration of The Art of the Violin in this matinee concert. Guttman and the orchestra start off with a pair of pieces by romanticist Felix Mendelssohn before launching into a Mozart divertimento and two works by Belgian countrymen Henri Vieuxtemps and Eugène Ysaÿe, before wrapping up this eclectic show with tango master Ástor Piazolla. In fact, Guttman leads his own tango quartet, along with serving as the principal guest conductor of the Brussels Chamber Orchestra, the leader of the acclaimed Arriaga Quartet and the founder and artistic director of the highly-regarded Tuscan music festival known as Pietrasanta in Concerto. Excellent production. The performers never missed a beat with the dancers right on the mark and the orchestra perfect. The show could be improved with the addition of a little vocal dialogue during and in between performances highlighting the history of the Tango, and perhaps adding a romantic story behind each interpretation.
Tickets not as expected at all. The offer clearly stated "Orchestra" seats, yet we were seated in the second to back row of the theater!!! They were in fact the worst seats in the house sitting right behind the sound engineers with their lit up control boards. I understand that we got discount tickets, but we were made to feel like we were nothing more than empty seat fillers. Perhaps this possibility should be more clearly explained in your offers, but then the old adage "If it sounds too good to be true it probably is" was clearly the case.

Luis Bravo’s _Forever Tango _Featuring Dancing With The Stars Champion Cheryl Burke
Due to popular demand, the internationally-celebrated dance spectacular Forever Tango returns to Lincoln Theater Napa Valley. New to this production is Cheryl Burke, two-time Dancing With The Stars champion and Bay Area native.
Created and directed by Luis Bravo, Forever Tango features a world-renowned cast of dancers and musicians who bring an intoxicating sense of excitement and passion to the stage. Through music, dance and vignettes, the production traces the tango’s colorful history from the beginning at the turn-of-the-century Buenos Aires bordellos to high society acceptance.
Forever Tango’s cast includes 14 world-class dancers, a vocalist and an eleven-piece, on-stage orchestra anchored by the bandoneón, the accordion-like instrument that is the mainstay of tango music. The Forever Tango orchestra features four of only two-hundred knwon bandoneón players in the world. The dances, performed to original and traditional music, are the result of collaboration between each couple and Luis Bravo.
