A hit since its 1980 debut on Broadway, 42nd Street follows the journey of star-struck chorus girl Peggy Sawyer as she tries to make her mark in show business. It's a a classic story of dedication, hard work, talent and being in the right place at the right time. And of course there is also a love story. Set during the Great Depression, 42nd Street is filled with classic musical numbers, including "We're in the Money," "You're Getting to Be a Habit with Me" and "Lullaby of Broadway." 42nd Street won a Tony Award for its original 1980 production and continues to thrill audiences today.

The singing was good, but I was really disappointed in the dancing. Ensemble numbers were just not in sync, with no crispness and unity. Tap requires far more discipline than this in order to avoid constant clattering across the floor.Written on Feb 21 2012
