It's a truly romantic Valentine's Day treat! Husband-and-wife actors Ellen Travolta and Jack Bannon come to Portland for a benefit performance of Love Letters. The beloved drama is simple in structure but powerful in emotion: Two lifelong companions read from the letters, notes and cards they've exchanged over the course of 50 years -- during which time they were separated by distance but connected through love. What starts as two privileged youngsters exchanging thank-you notes and summer camp postcards develops into a lifelong discussion of hopes, dreams and disappointments. Ellen Travolta has had a long acting career, including TV roles in Welcome Back Kotter, Happy Days, Joanie Loves Chachi and Charles in Charge, and film roles in Grease and Lonely Hearts (alongside her famous brother, John). Jack Bannon is best known for his role as Donovan on TV's Lou Grant, but he's also been in several other shows, like Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman, Murder She Wrote, Designing Women, MacGyver, St. Elsewhere, and Charlie's Angels.
