New Year's Celebration
Boston Baroque celebrates its 41st season and ushers in 2015 with its annual New Year's Eve and New Year's Day concerts featuring the Italian one-act opera, Domenico Cimarosa's Il maestro di cappella (The Music Director), along with short vocal works by Mozart. True to his style of mixing a little comedic expression with his love of the baroque, Music Director Martin Pearlman presents the amusing Cimarosa monodrama, which will feature Greater Boston's highly-regarded baritone, Andrew Garland. Also featured on the New Year's programs will be Mozart duets and arias, featuring Garland along with soprano Sara Heaton. With the traditional chocolates and champagne offered during intermission, Boston Baroque ensures the new year will again be a festive occasion at Harvard University's Sanders Theatre in Cambridge.
