How was your experience?

Clear I hated it I didn't like it It was OK I liked it I loved it!
It was raining and we had to wait in line for several minutes, outside in the rain, to get to the window where we were assigned our table. The "captain's seating" is a joke since every single person there (and it was a Saturday night) got to be seated in the first three rows as the place was less than half full. They served appetizers from 7-7:45 (and stopped promptly at 7:45 despite several people in line in front of them - they just wheeled things away and left them standing there). The appetizers were mediocre finger foods, although the fruit and cheeses were better than the others. The show itself did start exactly at 8:30 and was full of energy. There was a lot of singing by the pirates and princess and it was okay. It was better when the pirates were actually doing something, as they were at least enthused about doing it. Our waitress could not have looked more bored and frankly I might have felt the same way if I was serving that food. You had a choice between chicken and beef or chicken and seafood. The chicken was a leg/thigh quarter, dry and overcooked. The beef (?) was very chewy and served in some sort of strange sauce. Apparently the seafood was in a sauce and very fishy tasting. The potatoes and vegetables were okay and what I ended up eating, as the other food was not good at all. For dessert there was an apple cobbler with ice cream that was actually pretty good. You had a choice of unlimited overly sweet cola or two glasses of wine (cheap white zin) or two glasses of beer (Budweiser). I did not have that high of expectations for the food, having been to Medeival Times, but this meal was way below that standard (at least the Medeival Times food was edible and their vegetarian meal is pretty good). The show has a lot more action that Med. Times, but in the end it was not any more professional or fun. However, the kids in the audience seemed to enjoy it much more than the other show. Having lived here all my life I never took the time to do our more touristy attractions so I am glad I finally got around to it. That being said, I do not feel the desire to go here ever again.
