How was your experience?
The tickets that we purchased through Goldstar where not for the window seating on the Odyssey. However, when we called the cruise line they told us that we could be seated at the window if there was space available. When we arrived the hostess, who wasn't too friendly, sat us at a tiny table in the aisle and told us that she would see about a window seat. About 15 minutes later, we were offered a window seat in the far back by the staircase, which was the only one available. When we politely declined this offer in favor to remain in an area with better overall viewing despite our very tiny (non-window) table, our very friendly waiter, Alberto, offered to put two large tables together in the center of the dinning room for my boyfriend and I. We enthusiastically said "yes!", and we were given a prime space right in front of the band AND had a great panoramic view of the dining area and Lake Michigan. Alberto set our dinner plates side-by-side so that my boyfriend and I saw the band straight on while sitting next to each other holding hands. We truly felt like VIPs! Soon after, we noticed all of the other couples followed suit and were sitting side-by-side at their own (window) tables! LOL... Sometimes the little things make a big difference in having a wonderful experience and I am glad that Alberto and the waitstaff were so accommodating and kind. The food was great, the band was great, the views were great, the fireworks were great and I had a wonderful birthday on the Odyssey.
